I would like the option of a "answer the question" type function during user registration. A question I choose and choose the answer to. For instance during registration the user would be asked "What color is the sky?" and in a text box they would have to type "blue" or else registration would fail. This would help for when hackers find a way to hack through reCaptcha until they can be blocked again. In the last week reCaptcha has been hacked and I am getting 10+ spam accounts a day on my forum when normally I might get 10 per year. With this "Answer the Question" feature that would be handled.

Hello,
Thanks for the suggestion, it might as well be implemented. However, I don't think that's bot registrations, it might be real humans registering for spam purposes and no captcha can help there, only manual approval. That's what happens on this forum every day. Have a look on my blog post: www.sakic.net/blog/forum-spam/

Thanks! I would agree with you about malicious manual registers however it seems since January 4th a lot of people are noticing a spike in SPAM registrations on their forums, as seen in the Google Captcha forum. I know it won't stop the manual registrations but I do think in the past few days captcha has been cracked (for now).

It would be nice to have the option of using SQUIGL-PIX and/or ESP-PIX as well but I know that's a bigger upgrade to your app. Thanks for listening!

Didn't know about reCaptcha being cracked. If it's true I'm sure Google will tap the hole though.
Will have in mind adding some more Captcha options for future versions.
Thank you.

Any idea on when you might add this recommendation to AJAX Register? This hole in reCaptcha is driving me crazy! Thanks as always!

To tell you the truth I am currently busy making new versions for all extensions for Joomla 1.6. I can implement this when it's AJAX Register turn. Why not use built-in captcha in the meantime?
