AJAX Register integration with Kunena

Hi - I am running a website for a professional society. I am in the process of installing Kunena and I have just about managed to disable most of the features that are not appropriate for our purpose (such as karma, love hearts, etc.). What remains to be customised is Kunena's user profile; however, this cannot be edited without a hack. Kunena's user profile includes birthday and gender, both of which are not appropriate. To get rid of Kunena's user profiles, the only option, it seems, is to install Community Builder or JomSocial - but then I would have to uninstall AJAX Register (AR), and I would like to keep AR. I read somewhere in this Forum that AR integration with Kunena is planned. Is this something that is going ahead? What I would really like to do is to show a selection of my AR custom fields instead of Kunena's default user fields.

I need to finish the Forum within the next month or so. Personally I would be happy to repurchase the software for such a major upgrade - provided it works of course!
