Admin not getting emails to approve user registration.

I have set the New User Activation parameter in Joomla user options to Admin. The user gets the email to click the link. They click the link and the user sees gets back to the site and sees the message the admin needs to approve the registration. However the admin never gets the email to approve the user.

Other forms on the site send email to my default joomla admin account.

Joomla User Options set for notification to admin.
Ajax Confirm Email set to yes.

What might I have wrong?

Apparently someone else who also works on the site set for my individual admin user to not send system emails. I now get the emails and all is working regarding admin emails and approvals.
