& and + signs in Virtuemart

We have a Virtuemart ( www.myelephanthut.com ) site that the categories have & and + signs in them.  For example, Accents & Accessories and 6 months+.

I keep getting the URL www.myelephanthut.com/MyElephantHutToySt...nts-%26-accessories/

and

www.myelephanthut.com/MyElephantHutToySt...by-age/6-months-%2b/

For the other.

I read about the URL Replace but don't know how to configure this particular problem since I do want the & and + signs in the URL.

I tried to enter &=>& but that didn't work.

Any ideas?
