Installing SEF Advance for extensions

Apologies in advance - this may be a stupid question, but I am lost...  ???

How / where are the plugins for extensions installed?

e.g.
While I could install sobi_sefa_ext as Sobi plugin without a problem

• 
  CB_sefa_ext can neither be installed as Joomla plugin, nor as CB Plugin
• VM_sefa_ext ... ???

Couldn't find any documentation... I might have missed something.  Thanks for helping a newbie 

If you unzip any SEF Advance extension you will find a readme file with the instructions. You just need to upload the sef_ext.php file to the component's main directoru: components/com_component/

As I suspected.... stupid question.    :'(
