facebook share

back to the webmaster world... ;D

im playing around with facebook (and virtuemart). people can share products on their fb profile:

example: www.vodes.net/virtuemart/today-graz/gokart/ - unfortunately they can only share the ugly long url (it appears as www.vodes.net/index.php?option=com_virtu...=7&manufacturer_id=0 )

it works fine with content: www.vodes.net/faqs/ results in sharing a short pretty link. any ideas?

Hi Markus,

It looks like it's up to this sharing plugin you use. It uses non-SEF link for Virtuemart by some reason. Hard to say why without looking at the code.

i did a bit of research:

here it says: only one product shown ( plugin can recognized that from the product_id variable is get by getVar, maybe some SEF component can surprise .)

is this responsible that i dont get my pretty short links?

looks like the guys from joomlaportal.hu fixed their plugin:

there is a link including a working 1.610 version.
