What About Joomla Core Redirect

Joomla 2.5+ comes with its own redirect extension and plugin.  What effect does this have on SEF Advance and should it be enabled if we're using SEF Advance?

SEF Advance has it's own redirect so no need to use Joomla's built-in.

If I use the native redirect from Joomla 2.5 while having SEF Advance enabled, will it work? Which one has priority?
