SEF Advance + Joomla Smart Search

When I turn on SEF Advance, Smart Search doesn't work on my site. I'm using Joomla 2.5.17
Is there a setting I need to adjust to make Smart Search + SEF Advance work together? I couldn't find any posts about this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
