I have this option enabled .. as I always have and now it seems to have stopped working.
Site at wdoinnovation.com/ isn't redirecting to www.wdoinnovation.com/
Joomla 3.7 with PHP 7.1.0.

Okay - I think I can confirm this as something now as the redirects are also not working .. so when you redirect a URL to somewhere else i just get a white page
I think it was PHP 7.1 that I was on - I put down to 7.0 and it was fine

Last post on this .. it appears to be a known joomla bug - getting fixed in 3.7.1
