Why automapping

I see that the latest version of the great SEFadvance features automapping.

Is it possible for you to explain to me/us what automapping is about and what practical, "real life" advantages we will experience?

Also, does it - in any way - affect out seo/rankings in ANY negative way?

It should lower the chances of search engines thinking you have duplicate content if you have non-SEF URLs spread around (for example if you didn't use SEF Advance from the start). Should not have any negative impact on the ranking, quite the opposite.

Oh - ok

But how/why could we have "old urls"?

I thought SefAdvance would rewrite them all to search engince friendly urls - are some left?
