Hi,
Has anyone had an issue with huge amounts of querries to the database?
It is so bad on mine I upgraded to a dedicated server. Still no joy. Grinds my site to a crawl.
I read up about Joomla poor performace issues.
They advised different steps. One was disable SEF Advance component. Test
I did that and what do you know - Fast as lightning.
I am running the latest version of SEF advanced on Joomla.
Any one else had similar performance?

Queries with SEFA are very very small number, I guarantee as i tested with and without the component
.
Usualy the number becomes smaller with every new version.

A big Thank you to Emir ;D.
Thanks to him - he nailed the problem.
Superb support.
It was spammers trying to access Track Back features that were accidently left open by a web installer.
Everytime we enabled SEF urls - they hit us. Their dos attack was based on our listed SEF url's in google.
We have blocked them at Firewall level.
Lesson - do not have Trackback on your site.
It had nothing to do with SEF ADvance.
Thanks Emir
