Fixed in 1.6.8.
Now the slug will not be stripped off on alias. Note that, if you have slug and non-slug version of the non-sef URL on your site, you will now need to enter both.

Great, thanks. Yeah, the downside is indeed you have to enter it twice - but at least it is "what-you-enter-is-what-you-get".
