Hi!
3 weeks ago, we decided to change from sh404sef to SefAdvance on www.bryllup.dk
Now our Google webmastertools says that:
Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Feb 3, 2009: We've detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header.
This is scary - how do I fix this? We need the 404 file to return a proper 404 code, of course

Which version of SEF Advance do you have?
Have you defined 404 page?
www.bryllup.dk/sfsfsfsdfsfsfsd/ for example returns 404 header correctly. Can be verified on www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers.asp
Which URL exactly do you think Google are detecting as 200 OK?

Hi
1. It's sefadvance for 1.5
2. I set it up to have www.bryllup.dk/404-link-er-aendret.html as 404 page in SefAdvance administration
3. Is there a way for me to find out what to answer to your last question about what page Google thinks is the 404?

I don't know if Google expects that this page should get 404 header. Because that page is regular typed content and it has 200 header. If you submitted that page to Google maybe you should change it to something not-existing like
www.bryllup.dk/link-er-aendret/
which will return 404 header correctly.
Also you seem like having some errors on your site as many of the links seems hardcoded. So you have inconsistent SEF links: some from core-SEF, some with SEF Advance with turned on unique settings and some without unique settings. You should never hardcode any URLs, all of them should be posted as relative non-sef URLs so they can be converted automatically to SEF Advance.

Thanks for letting me know - I was completely unaware of this.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure I understand what exactly I should be doing?
Can you please tell me just a little and give me a specific example? Thanks

Oh, never mind, my bad. I thought about links on the frontpage like:
but now I see it is a 3rd party component with router file, it's ok.
I now noted that you have unique URL setting turned on, ok. Looks like there are indeed some problems with 404 on your site. Still looking at it.
