Welcome to our new website! Just launched, it features modern design trends and latest underlying system. The new touch and feel with friendly navigation will surely improve your online experience. It is accessible through a wide range of web browsers and devices, including mobiles and tablets, and has been designed to meet all relevant accessibility standards. Relying heavily on latest Joomla and our own extensions it will help demonstrate all the possibilities offered by our products.
Why new website
If you visited our old site you will probably agree it was about time to upgrade. The old site was based on bespoke content and product management system built 14 years ago. The latest redesign was done 7 years ago and has not changed much since. You can imagine it got pretty outdated by now.
What's new
Even though it might look simple, the new website took several months to develop (along with other work, of course). The design is custom and based on latest Bootstrap 3.3.4. It also includes some goodies like Font Awesome 4.3.0 and even custom fonts. It is responsive and automatically adapts to any screen size. Sass, a popular CSS preprocessor is used for styling, with its most popular framework - Compass. Many of the Javascript stuff that enhance the experience are also custom made.
The underlying system is based, you guessed it - on Joomla 3.4.1, with many overrides. Our components are used, so SEF Advance improves the URLs and make them friendlier, AJAX Scroller rotates the text in modules and AJAX Infinity dynamically loads the articles on news and blog views. We also took the opportunity to get rid of some old and unused stuff like redundant services and outdated products.
What probably took most of the time is the fact that I had to rewrite the complete system for managing the clients, purchases, payment gateways, automatic delivery and downloads. The system is now fully integrated with Joomla, using latest coding standards and represents a solid base to build on for even better services and improved customer experience.
What to expect next
The launch of the new website also clears the pipeline for some imminent product updates and launch of some new exciting products, so stay tuned!
