SEF AdvanceA brand new version of SEF Advance has been released. You requested new features - we listened. So, by popular demand, this version introduces new possibilities in managing your site's URLs and, also, it makes the usage of existing features easier than ever. Added non-www to www redirect feature
If your site is accessible both as www and non-www version, SEF Advance will make a 301 redirect to the version that you have defined in configuration file. For example, a request for http://site.com will be redirected to http://www.site.com.
This will help search engines decide canonical URL for your site and avoid double page rank and duplicate content penalties.

Added custom redirect feature
Now you can define a redirect of certain URL to another one.
It can be an old link that changed or even a short version of existing document. When user requests the source URL he will be redirected to the target of your choice and selected, customizable header will be sent to browser.

Improved alias handle
Same links with different Itemid:s no longer require separate alias entries. For example, the alias defined for
index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&Itemid=3
will as well be the alias for:
index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&Itemid=26

Improved alias admin manager
It's now much easier to define URL aliases for your site.
Namely, the non-sef URLs can now be entered as original SEF Advance URLs. You are no longer required to disable SEF to find out a non-sef URL for some link. You may, just as well, copy over the exact, absolute SEF URL for the link and enter it. It will get translated to non-sef URL automatically for you.

The upgrade is free for current customers at the automatic download page.

To upgrade from previous version export your settings, uninstall the old version, install the new one and import the settings again. No data will be lost.
