I have "Redirect Legacy SEF URLs" set to "No" and it behaves as ruigato describes.
Is it possible to have SEF Advance ignore the component and router.php take care of formatting? When I add mtree to the Ignore Components list it generates query string URLs.
I can use .htaccess 301s to get all the categories and listings moved over to the new router.php SEF URL format.

If you delete or rename sef_ext.php then router.php will "take over".

There's not a sef_ext.php in the components/com_mtree direcotry.

Then the router.php should work. What is your problem exactly?
