Problem with JoomFish

17 years 9 months ago #248 by inpictura
I'm trying to get working SEF Advance with Joomfish.

Please help me to solve my problem.

I have this kind of url

Italian
dominio.com/Gatti/Persiano.html

English
dominio.com/Cats/Persian.html

Italian is the default language.
Italian urls work great, but with english ones, the links don't seems to work.

I have disabled $sef_fish.

Is it impossible to use JoomFish with SEF Advance?
Is it that the problem?

thanks

The lanhuage code must have 2 characters.

So the links should be:
dominio.com/en/Cats/Persian.html
dominio.com/it/Cats/Persian.html

Yes
I know it.

I mean... with SEF Advance i can't translate section and items' name.
Is this the problem?

If it's so... it's not correct to say that SEF Advance is JoomFish compatible, as i can't use JoomFish.

How can i make SEO if i can't translate links (and section, category, item name)?

let me know please, if i'm wrong.

No the URLs are not translated, instead the language code is added to URL.
It is still Joomfish compatible and you can use Joomfish. Of course you can translate your section and category names, but only the default name will be used in URL.
You can then access different language versions of your content with:
domain.com/en/page.html
domain.com/de/page.html
domain.com/fr/page.html

Thanks for your reply Emir.

mmm...

Maybe... the problem is not here.

Please leave me to give you an example.

My Joomla web site use two different languages with JoomFish.

Italian and English

I have the following STATIC CONTENT page:

English:
Page: Persian Cats.html

Italian:
Page: Gatti persiani.html

Italian is the default language.

SEF Advance is installed and $sef_fish is enabled.

SEF Advance make the following SEF URLS:

1) domain.com/it/gatti-persiani.html

and

2) domain.com/en/persian-cats.html

So ... 1) works and 2) doesn't work

is it wright?

but it works
domain.com/en/gatti-persiani.html

is it wright?

I'd like to have 2) working ... is it possible?

Gatti persiani.html and Persian Cats.html are static content elements, and they are added to a menu as link.
Maybe the problem is that SEF Advance don't work with static content URL translated?!?!

Let me know please.

thanks

Hi,

If Italian is default language you should get:
domain.com/it/gatti-persiani.html
domain.com/en/gatti-persiani.html

If you don't get that something is wrong.

Also don't add it as URL link to menu, add only one, italian version, as Link - Static Content.
